Tierney’s are seeking an experienced and customer focused Area Sales & Business Account Managerto join our team, who will report directly to the company Head of Sales & Business Development.


This is a Hybrid role, based out of our Head Office in Ennis.  


Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Promote and sell Tierney’s IT contract services, hardware & software products, point of sales and other hospitality solutions to existing and prospective customers.

  • Research, identify and target prospective customers in your sales region.

  • Organise and/ or carry out pre-sales IT surveys and fact-finding meetings at customer locations

  • Meet with customers’ key IT stakeholders and other third-party IT related vendors, at different intervals throughout the sales cycle.

  • Prepare and deliver company & product presentations and demonstrations, that explain our products or services to customers. Liaise with inside sales support and other departments to provide industry or customer specific solutions.

  • Manage pre-sales discussions for IT upgrades and major projects, recommending improved or upgraded materials, systems, and machinery to customers, documenting better business efficiencies and ROI

  • Prepare customer quotations and extended proposals using the company CRM system.

  • Overview of new customer onboarding processes, whose accounts you will manage

  • Internal liaison with the Tierney’s support, technical services, procurement, accounts, and management teams to ensure a seamless experience for your customers.

  • Contribute to the achievement of the company’s Irish Sales targets together with the wider sales and marketing departments

  • Communicate service and support agreements/ contracts and company SLA’s/ T&C’s with Tierney’s customers

  • Carry out periodic customer account reviews.

  • Develop future customer IT strategies and roadmaps, assisting IT budget planning.

  • Continuously expand your product knowledge on Tierney’s range of products and services

  • Utilize our company CRM system to forecast sales pipelines, track, and report on sales activities, generate reports and process sales orders.

  • Attend trade shows and seminars to meet with existing and prospective customers, promote products or to learn about industry developments

  • Keep informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments.

  • Attend company training seminars regarding company products, systems, and processes.

  • Prepare for and attend, locally or remotely, company sales and any other relevant meetings.

  • Develop sales plans to introduce products in new markets


Desired candidate’s skills and experience: 

  • Previous Sales experience and account management in a similar role is desirable

  • Knowledge and experience within the IT Industry is an advantage. 

  • Knowledge and experience within the Hospitality Industry is an advantage. 

  • Good overall computer literacy and experience with Microsoft 365 Office Suite is essential 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Sales CRM’s is a distinct advantage 

  • A positive team player that is dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic. 

  • Must be well presented and have excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Full, clean Irish/EU drivers licence.
